Covering the Mahamasthakabhisheka 2018 was an extraordinary experience that blended spirituality, tradition, and visual grandeur. The majestic 57-foot monolithic statue of Lord Bahubali in Shravanabelagola became the centerpiece of my lens as I captured this once-in-12-years Jain festival. Witnessing the ceremonial anointing of the statue with saffron, milk, turmeric, and sacred water was a mesmerizing experience, with vibrant colors cascading down the ancient stone, creating a visual spectacle. The devotion of the pilgrims, the rhythmic chants, and the serene yet powerful ambiance added layers of depth to every frame. My aim was not only to document this historic event but also to convey the profound sense of faith and community that enveloped the occasion. Each photograph is a testament to the timeless traditions and the enduring spiritual legacy of Mahamasthakabhisheka.
